Strike Planning, Management, Resolution, and Labor Disputes
United States’ law allows Strike activities, but not the destruction of property, sabotage, injury to people, disruption of operations, inhibiting traffic, and many other aspects often thought part of the strike. GMA will help you develop your Strike Plan, will actively participate in and support your initiative to resolve the matter and return to business, and will implement all Security aspects of the Strike Plan. Undercover Workplace Investigations
GMA can insert covert operatives into the workplace to ascertain any manner of suspected misconduct. Recent cases have resulted in recovery of property, discovery and termination of significant drug trade on production floors, and most importantly the prevention of further losses to the companies. GMA considers resolution of all workplace involvement as a matter of personal safety and protection for all workers. Intellectual Property Investigations
If someone has created an electronic version of any element of the company, someone else may look to compromise it. Intellectual Property has significant value, and potentially catastrophic consequences if released improperly, counterfeited, or compromised. GMA can work with the company to develop policies and procedures to prevent the loss of protected copyrights, patents, and trademarks. GMA also assist by investigating matters where IP rights have been infringed upon. Methods and methodologies differ from other investigations, and GMA can bring the proper assets to the case, from electronic and computer mining to covert investigators working alongside the suspect. Workplace Violence Investigations
Harassment, intimidation, coercion, threats of violence, violence, weapons or threats of weapons in the workplace all result in degradation of professionalism and performance, and responsible companies cannot tolerate these actions. Bullying does not stop in high school and this type of psychological and physical misconduct has the same effects on the workplace. GMA teaches “Commitment Based Security” to prevent these misdeeds, but as in most circumstances, some people do not heed the information. Workplace violence has no place in the workplace, and GMA’s team will resolve it overtly, covertly, or both, but positively for the company and the affected individuals.
Fraud / Workplace Theft Investigations
Today’s workplace theft costs employers tens of billions of dollars, and that number goes up as much as 15% each year. Fraud tops the list of matters as simple as a falsified time card to a fraudulent worker’s compensation claim to willful falsification of bills of lading or receipt documents to credit card misuse and culminating in the highest levels of corporate corruption. GMA offers a total range of services to combat workplace theft including application pre-screening and recommendations, thorough background investigations, on-going training, “Do’s and Don’ts,” investigating the working environment for vulnerabilities and weaknesses which could result in theft, reviewing policies and procedures, inventory control and management procedures, and the investigation of suspected misconduct. As in many investigations, the techniques may include overt and covert investigators as well as in-depth interviews, and cooperation with local authorities as necessary and in conjunction with the company’s legal counsel.
Sexual Harassment Investigations
Perhaps as potentially debilitating as physical violence in the workplace, sexual harassment results in the breakdown of respect for company leadership as well as the actual perpetrator, because the company should have known of the condition and prevented it. Further, public law makes employers accountable even for non-employees in the employer knew or should have known of the event. The company must take quick, precise and decisive actions regarding sexual harassment claims. Investigators need to know the culture of the company’s environment and must gain the confidence of all participants before truth and successful resolution will follow. GMA does not stop with a benign report but rather includes clear conclusions and recommendations pertinent to management’s decisions and actions aimed toward preventing future occurrences. Sexual harassment will break an organization; GMA will break the harassment and prevent its recurrence.
Substance Abuse Investigations
Absenteeism, decreased productivity, rising insurance costs, liability expenses, accidents, injuries, and deaths stem from the same repugnant abuse of legal and illegal substances. The “Commitment Based Security” course teaches people what to look for as telltale signs of abuse, but quite often people “just don’t want to get involved.” The end result of substance abuse pops up in every industry every day, and people always suffer. Companies show the costs in terms of dollars lost; families show the costs in terms of loved-ones lost. GMA wants to intervene to protect the people and prevent the loss, but has countless cases of covert investigators working with the company and local law enforcement to “sting” users and sellers.
